The Taiwan government's blueprint to develop Taiwan into a bilingual nation by 2030 - the "2030 Bilingual Nation" policy - has ignited discussions over the role of English in Taiwanese society, the pros and cons for Taiwan to become a bilingual country, as well as Taiwan's language policy and education in general. While proponents of the policy stated goals on improving Taiwan's international competitiveness, questioners might link this policy to cultural self-colonialization, doubt the effectiveness of a top-down language policy, or express concerns over prioritizing educational resources on one specific foreign language.

Write a well-structured essay to express your thoughts on the "2030 Bilingual Nation" policy. You are welcome to approach the topic from any direction that interests you: to share your vision of Taiwan's bilingual future, to explore the policy's feasibility, to inquire into the policy's cultural implications, to provide your insights about language education, or others.
