According to a recent study, as a country develops, rates of colorectal cancer, also known as bowel cancer, rise alongside it. The "western" lifestyle that comes with a country's growing economy is thought to be behind the increase in rates. Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer in the world. It affected 1.4 million people in 2012 and is predicted to increase by 60%, to more than 2.2 million cases -- and 1.1 million deaths -- by 2030. This form of cancer is a common result of poor lifestyle choices such as a bad diet, low levels of exercise, smoking and drinking excessive alcohol. More importantly, this type of cancer was found to be on the rise in low and middle-income countries as their economies develop. Decades ago you did not see so much of it in low-income countries. There were more infection-related cancers. But today, lifestyle diseases -- and cancers -- are making more of an appearance. Countries where colorectal cancer numbers -- and death rates -- were on the rise include China, Russia, and Brazil, which have all undergone rapid economic development over the past decade.

Bowel cancer is a slow growing disease and the symptoms only develop at a later stage. Symptoms mainly affect the bowel and abdomen region and include blood in feces, pain in the abdomen or back passage, or lumps in that same region. Early detection is important and drives down the mortality. Once symptoms have developed, it is likely the cancer will have spread. Primary prevention is key, through increased awareness and healthier lifestyle. Early detection and increasing opportunities for screening in all affected countries and not just the affluent ones are also important. These measures, in turn, would benefit other disease epidemics, such as obesity and diabetes. Obesity is known to be linked with colorectal cancer.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The flight of UAVs may be controlled by a given degree of remote control from an operator. UAVs are often preferred for missions that are too dull, dirty or dangerous for manned aircraft. They have and are mostly found in special operation applications. In the United States, for example, government agencies use UAVs to patrol the nation’s borders, watch property, and locate criminals.

Drones are also used to gather weather information from the atmosphere. According to scientists, the drones could help weather experts improve their predictions. Meteorologists say their

weather forecasts would be more accurate if they had information from many parts of the atmosphere. Nowadays, UAVs are increasingly used in recreational purposes. First of all, they must be operated in accordance with a community-based set of safety guidelines. Secondly, the aircraft is limited to 55 pounds unless otherwise certified. Thirdly, the aircraft is operated in a manner that does not interfere with and gives way to any manned aircraft. Lastly, when flown within 5 miles of an airport, the operator of the UAV provides the airport air traffic control tower with prior notice of the operation.
